The 12th Sai Mahotsav was held on Thursday in the Gandhi Maidan. In the morning at 9 p.m Sai Poojan was held, Maha Aarti in noon ,at 12.30 pm sai bhoj was distributed. Women and men of Chaibasa made different queue to worship and have bhoj in Gandhi Maidan, so that no devotee has to face any kind of problem in taking it. After this the huge palki sobha yatra was taken out. A large number of girls and women chanting Om Sai and walking barefoot on the journey and holding kalash on their heads. Yatra traveled through Gandhi Maidan and returned to the Gandhi Maidan, through various main square-intersections of the city. Men and women jawans were imposed on the way to avoid any problem on the way during the Palaki Yatra. Along with the devotees , Chau artists were also walking in the Palaki tour. Apart from this chau artists performed their traditional dance form sixth dance. After this time Bhajan evening was organized from 7.30 pm. In it, Ishrat Jahan from Mumbai, Shailaja ji from Delhi, Deva from Moradabad presented the song and a grand table-dance was organized by the stars of Tarun Chopra and Group Allahabad.

Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA) Chaibasa is organizing a painting competition on Martyrs’ Day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh from 2 p.m. on 23rd March at scout Hindi Girls High School. This competition will be organized in two groups. There will be color filling competition for Group 1, which will include students from class 3 to class 5 and drawing competition based on patriotism in Group 2, in which students from class 6 to class 8 will be there. The interested students will have to bring the painting material with them. The paper will be made available on behalf of the institution. The contribution amount for the competition has been kept at Rs. 20. Participants can enroll themselves at the venue itself. After the competition, the prize will be distributed on the said date and the presentation of patriotic songs will be done.

On the 47th Shree Shyam Phalgun festival, the grand procession of Shri Shyam Khatu Baba was taken from Shree Shyam Prachar Mandal on Saturday from the Karni temple. Earlier, there was a grand puja from Pandit Niranjan Sharma in Karni temple. After this maha aarthi was organized. Also, the worship of the mark was caught in the hands of all the devotees. Nishan yatra reached the Shree Shyam Mandir Prangan Amalatla via Post Office Chowk, Sadar Police Station, Jain Market Chowk, Rungta Chowk. During this time, women and children were shouting on the bare foot, “Khatu Naresh ki Jai Ho”. During this time all the devotees of devotion were walking with complete faith. On 17th March, a grand Bhajan evening will be held from 7.30 pm in the Shri Shyam Temple Pragan Amalatala. Before this, Ganesh Pujan will be lit 9 o’clock in the morning and at 6.30 jyaaras ki jyothi will lit. It will be praised by the famous hymn singers Neha Pandey, Veena Pandeya, Sonu Sharma and Kajol & Group of Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. Baba’s Akhand Jyoti will be held in the temple premises on 18th March with a dance drama from two o’clock in the afternoon and on March 19, the Rajasthani Holi Festival will be celebrated with Shri Khatu Naresh Shyam Baba in the temple premises. A large number of devotees including Shankar Lal Lodha, Purshottam Sharma, Shivcharan Agarwal, Harishankar Shyampuria, Shyamlal Goenka, Shyam Bihari Agarwal, Anil Murarka, Kishan Singhania, Sushil Rungta, Pradeep Agrawal, Shibu Agarwal and Sandeep Gopal were included mainly in the program.

The incident is about Chaibasa-Jainthgarh NH 75 near Jhingpani. Where the tanker filled with high speed diesel gets overturned and uncontrolled. Although the driver and the conductor have received minor injuries. After the accident, the oil tanker started getting leakage. On the reverse of the tanker filled with oil, the villagers took the risk of plucking their oil and risking their lives. Local children, old men, women bottles, buckets, gallons, tin cans etc. filled the oil and filled their homes.

Police also started looting oil.

When the PCR van deployed to protect the National Highway was informed about the accident, the police reached the oil tanker. At the same time, rather than refusing locals, the police jawans themselves were engaged in loading in the PCR van by filling tankers in oil gallons.

 Kolhan University organised its fourth convocation in Chaibasa on Tuesday.  Droupadi Murmu, governor of Jharkhand who was the chief guest and delivered the convocation address. She emphasised on importance of research, innovation and technological advancement.

This apart vice-chancellor of Kolhan University, Shukla Mahanty; pro-vice-chancellor, Ranjit Singh; principals of colleges from across Kolhan region and students were present for the third convocation ceremony in the multipurpose hall of Tata College, Chaibasa. The vice-chancellor delivered her welcome speech highlighting the achievements of Kolhan University in the past years.

The day began with the academic procession led by Murmu along with vice-chancellor Mahanty..

” It is a historic moment. We have come a long way. Our university has achieved many milestones and now we aim to also introduce some innovative courses. From the academic session 2019-20, the Kolhan University will introduce diploma courses in yoga and value education. We expect that all our college campuses will be equipped with wi-fi network,” said Mahanty in her welcome speech.

The fourth convocation ceremony that gave out degrees to students of 2014-17 witnessed 38 students received gold medals for their academic performance across various streams. Students this year like last year were dressed in traditional attire. While boys adorned white kurta and churidar and girls were asked to come in white salwar suits. The pink Indian safa and a Santhali traditional stole the tribal as well as Indian touch to the university convocation. University officials and chancellor also wore pagdis.

Students of government schools in Jharkhand’s rural areas will find ease for learning science. The education department has taken initiative for this. Under which mobile laboratory has been arranged. On Saturday, two vehicles from Education Department was flagged off by MP Laxman Giluva, Deputy Commissioner Arwa Rajkamal and Deputy Development Commissioner Aditya Ranjan. Before leaving, everyone has visited this mobile laboratory.

Through the Wonder On Wheels Laboratory Vehicle, the children of the city and village will be greatly helped in the study of science. Its use will develop in teaching of students. Government has provided 3 vehicles in the first phase under this scheme. In which two vehicles in West Singhbhum and one vehicle have been found in Deogarh. Many schoolgirls were also present on the spot. They also understood many riddles of science through experimental devices.

The Tata-Kachigura Special train will run from March 4 to June 25 It will be halted at 14 stations including Chaibasa, Danguwaposi, Bansapani, Jiruli, Kendujargarh, Sukinida Road, Niraj Marathapur, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur. The train will have an AC to Tier, two AC Three Tier, seven sleeper coaches and six general second class coaches. The Tata-Kachiguda Special (07439) train will open from Tatanagar every Tuesday at 10.50 pm and reach Kachiguda at 5 a.m. on Thursdays. In the opposite direction, the Kachiguda-Tata Special (07438) train will depart from Kachiguda every Tuesday at 1 a.m. and on the second day at 7:45 pm, it will reach Tatanagar.

On the sidelines of inaugurating Seher Samridhi Utsav at Harmu Ground here on Sunday, chief minister Raghubar Das  said he will launch the Mukhyamatri Yojana from Chaibasa district on Thursday. The day-long event, organised by Ranchi Municipal Corporation, was aimed at creating awareness about existing provisions of Antyodaya schemes of among its beneficiaries. “Mukhyamantri Sukanya Yojana is aimed at providing social security and economic stability to girls from the time they are born till their marriage.” State urban development minister CP Singh, who was also present at the event, said, “We have proved our committment towards the people through our work. ”
